CEMETERY REDEDICATION

Yesterday evening (Veterans Day, 2011), the Camp Floyd Cemetery was rededicated. This was to recognize the changes that have been made to make the cemetery FACTUAL historically. All the 84 markers were removed and destroyed. New upright markers with the inscription: UNKNOWN" were placed at each of the gravesites discovered in the ground openetrating radar survey - a total of 34. There is also a walkby plaque with the names of soldiers who can be presumed to have been buried in the cemetery based on their and dates places of death. The information found in this blog was used for the changes. Thanks to all - Curtis Allen.
